This comprehensive workspace project transforms a traditional office floor into a dynamic, flexible environment that supports various work modes—from focused individual work to large team collaborations. The design reflects the client's innovative culture while providing a healthy, inspiring place to work.
Planning Strategy
The space planning process began with extensive research into how the team actually works. Through workshops and observation, we identified patterns and needs that informed every design decision.
Zoning Approach
The floor is organized into distinct zones, each designed to support specific activities:
- Focus Zone: Quiet areas with acoustic treatment for concentrated individual work
- Collaboration Hub: Open team areas with flexible furniture configurations
- Social Spaces: Kitchen, lounge, and informal meeting areas that encourage connection
- Client Zone: Welcoming reception and meeting rooms that showcase the company culture
- Wellness Area: Quiet room, phone booths, and a small fitness space
Flexibility by Design
Understanding that work patterns evolve, we built flexibility into the design:
- Modular furniture systems that can be reconfigured as needs change
- Mobile partition walls to adjust space sizes
- Consistent power and data access throughout
- Furniture specifications that allow for easy additions
Material Selection
The material palette balances warmth and professionalism:
- Natural oak flooring in social areas
- Acoustic panels in brand colors
- Biophilic elements including living walls and planted areas
- Sustainable materials throughout, supporting the client's environmental values
Result
The completed office supports 85 employees across multiple departments while maintaining generous circulation and social spaces. Post-occupancy surveys show significant improvements in employee satisfaction, collaboration, and perceived productivity.
