Penthouse Herăstrău
Master suite with mirrored-ceiling canopy, integrated bar nook, and concealed dressing room — full interior design and delivery.
Project Overview
The master suite of a penthouse apartment overlooking Herăstrău Park. Our scope ran from concept through delivery: spatial planning, bespoke joinery, custom furniture, and the final styling on move-in day.
Design Approach
The client wanted a master suite that felt like a hotel room you don't want to leave. We responded with a tightly edited palette — concrete ceiling, reclaimed oak-plank wall behind the bed, and an integrated bar nook carved into the headboard wall so the bed faces the city view without obstruction.
Design Moves
- Mirrored ceiling panel — a single 2×1.4m bronze-tinted mirror set flush above the bed. Reflects the oak wall, doubles the apparent ceiling height, stays subtle in daylight.
- Bar nook — hidden within the wall to the left of the bed. Walnut interior, brass rail, space for six bottles and a small fridge.
- Cognac leather sofa — custom length (2.4m), placed perpendicular to the bed to define a lounging zone.
- Glass-walled ensuite — visible through a feature wall, with a concealed blackout curtain on a hidden track.
- Floor — warm wide-plank oak, brushed and matt-sealed, underfloor heating throughout.
- Lighting — three circuits (overhead spots, sconce wash, bedside), all dimmable, with a single bedside switch that cycles four scenes.
Delivery
Completed May 2024. The client's photographer documented the result — imagery used here is from that shoot.
